John Sosa, M.D. is a native of suburban Detroit and is double Board Certified in Family Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine. He completed his undergraduate degree in Anthropology-Zoology from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and went on to attend the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine in St. Maarten. He completed three years of General Surgery residency at St. Joseph Mercy-Oakland Hospital in Pontiac, MI, and a 2-year Family Medicine residency at Providence Hospital in Southfield, MI, where he was Chief Resident in his final year.
He joined BayCare Medical Group in Tampa, FL, where he provided compassionate, comprehensive primary care to teens and adults for nearly ten years.
In 2017, he was part of the inaugural class to become Board Certified by the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. He started the first Direct Primary Care Lifestyle Medicine practice in 2019, where he has passionately focused on lifestyle and health optimization to help prevent, treat, and reverse chronic diseases. Dr. Sosa is now Chief Medical Officer for Drip Health and practices Concierge Personalized Lifestyle Medicine across multiple states.
Dr. Sosa is vegan, a fitness fanatic, and an avid sports and movie enthusiast. He and his wife have four beautiful kids in a blended family.
